American Indie Competition
The American Indie Competition is LIFF’s main competition that focuses entirely on American independent cinema. Young American talents who are yet unknown to international audiences are invited to enter the competition, where they can take their first steps into the global limelight. The competition films are selected from among the year’s newest productions. We aim to be the gateway to Europe for these films and filmmakers.
American Indie Shorts
Short films from North America. Young American talents who are yet unknown to international audiences are invited to the selection, where they can take their first steps into the global limelight.
International Shorts are presented in two blocks at the festival. We work together witch Leiden International Short Film Experience in selecting the best of worldwide shorts today.
The best of today’s world cinema and (big) pre-premieres define the Panorama section of LIFF. In this section, around 40 films compete for the LIFF audience award.
